UniFi Lite 8 PoE brings managed Gigabit switching and four PoE+ outputs to a compact white desktop or wall-mounted enclosure. Its included 60W adapter supports a shared 52W PoE budget, with four further data ports available for ordinary wired devices and the upstream connection.
Connections at the edge
All eight RJ45 ports provide 10/100/1000 Ethernet, and four can supply 802.3af/at PoE to compatible endpoints. The other four are data-only connections. There is no separate SFP interface: plan the uplink using a Gigabit copper port and include that connection in the eight-port count.
Power with boundaries
The external 54V/60W supply powers the switch and its downstream devices. Four PoE+ ports each have a manufacturer PSE ceiling of 30W, but the combined available output is 52W. Power at the receiving device is lower after cable loss. Check the full device load and leave headroom rather than multiplying the port count by 30W.
Managed Layer 2
The model supports VLANs, LACP, STP/RSTP, IGMP snooping, access controls and port isolation/mirroring through UniFi Network. Manufacturer ratings are 16Gbps switching capacity, 8Gbps non-blocking throughput and 12Mpps forwarding. These are aggregate figures; a single connection remains Gigabit.
Desktop or wall
The polycarbonate switch measures 163.7mm wide, 99.6mm deep and 31.7mm high, with a device weight of 295g. Its fanless design suits a compact wired installation. Keep the external supply and cables accessible, respect the −15–40°C operating range and use a protected indoor location with ventilation.
Adoption and servicing
The current manufacturer application requirement is UniFi Network 7.2.94 or later. Ethernet, PoE and system indicators help identify port activity and adoption state. Keep configuration and purchase records, select the exact Lite 8 PoE support resources, and confirm the mains plug suits the installation before powering the included adapter.
