These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website (the “Site”) and the purchase of products from it. Please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


1. Definitions

  • “Customer”, “you” or “your” means the natural or juristic person who accesses the Site or places an Order.
  • “We”, “us”, “our” or the “Company” means Matzotech Pty Ltd.
  • “Order” means a request placed by you through the Site to purchase one or more Products.
  • “Products” means the goods offered for sale on the Site.
  • “Site” means this website and any subdomains operated by the Company.
  • “CPA” means the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 of the Republic of South Africa.
  • “POPIA” means the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 of the Republic of South Africa.
  • “Business day” means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in South Africa.

3. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing the Site, registering an account, or placing an Order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Site. We may amend these Terms from time to time as set out in section 14 below.

4. Account registration

  • You must be 18 years or older, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to register an account or place an Order.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep your account details up to date.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity carried out under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at admin@strandweb.co.za of any unauthorised access.
  • We reserve the right, in our reasonable discretion, to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are being used in breach of these Terms, for fraudulent purposes, or in a manner that may cause loss to us or to other Customers.

5. Orders and pricing

  • All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing statutory rate, unless expressly stated otherwise.
  • Prices, promotions, and product availability are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your Order is the price displayed at the time you place and pay for the Order.
  • Despite our best efforts, a small number of Products on the Site may be mispriced or contain an obvious error. Where the correct price is higher than the price shown, we will, before accepting your Order, contact you and either confirm the correct price or cancel the Order. Where the correct price is lower, we will charge the lower amount.
  • Stock availability is indicated as accurately as possible. We do not guarantee continuous availability of any Product and reserve the right to limit the quantity of any item purchased per Customer or per Order.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any Order, including (without limitation) Orders that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, that breach these Terms, or that we are unable to fulfil for stock or logistical reasons. Where we cancel a paid Order, we will refund the amount paid in full, without undue delay.

6. Payment

We accept a range of secure online payment methods, including major credit and debit cards, instant EFT, and selected buy-now-pay-later providers. Full details of accepted payment methods, processing partners, and security measures are set out on our Payment Methods page, which forms part of these Terms.

Payment must be received and cleared before Products are dispatched. Title in the Products remains with the Company until full payment has been received.

7. Delivery

  • We deliver within the Republic of South Africa only, unless expressly agreed in writing.
  • Estimated delivery lead times are shown at checkout and in your Order confirmation. These are estimates only and not guaranteed delivery dates.
  • Risk in the Products passes to you upon delivery to the address you specified at checkout, or to a third-party collection point you nominated. Ownership transfers to you once both delivery has taken place and full payment has been received, in line with the CPA.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that someone is available to take delivery and to inspect the goods on arrival. Any visible damage or shortfall should be noted with the courier and reported to us within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Where delivery is not possible due to incorrect or incomplete address information provided by you, or because no one is available to accept delivery, we may charge a reasonable redelivery or storage fee.

8. Returns, refunds, and cancellations

Your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) are not affected by these Terms. In particular:

8.1 Cooling-off period (section 16 of the CPA)

Where you have purchased a Product as a result of direct marketing (as defined in the CPA), you may rescind that transaction, without reason or penalty, by giving written notice to us within five (5) business days after the later of the date the transaction was concluded or the date the Product was delivered. The Product must be returned to us in its original, unused, and undamaged condition, in its original packaging. We will refund the purchase price within 15 business days of receiving the returned Product, less any direct cost of return where this is reasonable.

8.2 Implied warranty against defects (section 56 of the CPA)

Every Product is sold subject to the implied warranty of quality set out in section 56 of the CPA. If, within six (6) months of delivery, a Product is found to be defective, unsafe, or not fit for its intended purpose, you may return it to us and, at your election, we will repair, replace, or refund the Product, at no charge to you. This right is in addition to any manufacturer’s warranty that may apply.

8.3 Change-of-mind returns

Outside of the cooling-off period and the section 56 warranty, we may, in our discretion and on a goodwill basis, accept the return of a Product that is unopened, unused, and in a fully resaleable condition. Such returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery. We may charge a reasonable handling fee and you will be responsible for the cost of return.

8.4 How to initiate a return

To request a return, refund, or cancellation, please contact us at admin@strandweb.co.za with your Order number and a brief description of the issue. Refunds are processed to the original method of payment, where reasonably possible.

9. Warranties and disclaimers

  • The implied warranties under the CPA and any other applicable South African law apply to all Products sold through the Site and are not excluded or limited by these Terms.
  • Beyond those statutory warranties, and beyond any manufacturer’s warranty supplied with a specific Product, we make no further warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the Products or the Site.
  • The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, although we take reasonable steps to ensure that it is.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, product photography, layouts, source code, and trademarks — is owned by Matzotech Pty Ltd, its licensors, or its content suppliers, and is protected by South African and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify the content or remove any copyright or proprietary notices. Any other use — including reproduction, distribution, public display, or commercial use — requires our prior written consent.

11. Privacy and cookies

Our handling of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy, which form part of these Terms. By using the Site or placing an Order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these policies. We process personal information in accordance with POPIA.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, including the CPA:

  • Our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with any Order will not exceed the price paid by you for the relevant Product(s).
  • We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses (including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data) arising out of or in connection with the Site or any Order.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) gross negligence; (b) willful misconduct; (c) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (d) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or (e) any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the CPA or other applicable law.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with any Order are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Western Cape High Court for the resolution of any such dispute, without prejudice to your statutory rights under the CPA, including the right to refer disputes to the National Consumer Commission or to a consumer court.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. The current version is always shown on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention (for example, by email to registered Customers or by a prominent notice on the Site). Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
