Hikvision DS-3E1506P-EI • Managed Gigabit PoE
Connect a small surveillance network through four Gigabit PoE ports, with two additional Gigabit RJ45 uplinks for the rest of the network. The DS-3E1506P-EI provides a shared 60W PoE budget, VLAN and loop-prevention controls, and remote management in a compact metal enclosure.
Connections and power
Ports 1–4 support IEEE 802.3af/at powered devices at up to 30W per port, within a 60W total budget. Two separate Gigabit RJ45 uplinks connect the switch to other network equipment. The exact DS-3E1506P-EI uses a 54V DC, 1.2A supply reference; similarly named /M variants have different power budgets and must not be treated as identical.
Camera maintenance
PoE watchdog can detect and restart unresponsive cameras on ports 1–4. The long-range mode is specified up to 300m, with results depending on the camera model and cable conditions; that distance does not establish Gigabit throughput. Cable diagnostics identify open circuits, shorts and cable length, while LLDP and port mirroring assist troubleshooting.
Network control
802.1Q support provides up to 32 VLANs, with configurable IDs 1–4094 and access/trunk modes. Port isolation separates devices on ports 1–4 while allowing them to communicate outside the isolation group. Two static aggregation groups and STP/RSTP provide further topology controls; loop prevention is disabled by default in the reviewed datasheet and needs appropriate configuration.
Management and placement
Use web management, Hik-Partner Pro or Hik-Central Pro for supported administration. Hik-Partner Pro can show topology, alarms, port utilisation and PoE power use, and supports remote port/device restarts. The 121.1 × 27.6 × 83.1mm metal enclosure supports desk or wall mounting, with a manufacturer-listed 6kV surge rating and a grounding terminal.

Match the exact unsuffixed model, power adapter and regional hardware before deployment. Keep total powered-device demand within 60W and individual ports within 30W. Long-range results depend on the camera and cabling. Firmware must be selected for the exact model/revision.
