Ubiquiti UniFi • UXG-FIBER-EU
Gateway Fiber combines 10G interfaces, a four-port 2.5GbE switch and one PoE+ output in a compact desktop gateway. It is an independent UXG appliance: manage it with a CloudKey, Official UniFi Hosting or a UniFi OS Server running UniFi Network, chosen separately for the installation.
Physical connections
Default WAN connections are one 10G SFP+ port and one 10GbE RJ45 port. A second 1/10G SFP+ interface serves the LAN alongside four 2.5GbE RJ45 ports. The copper 10G port supports 10G/2.5G/1G modes; the four switch ports also support 1G/100M/10M. Select compatible optics or DAC and match both ends of every uplink.
Routing and inspection
Ubiquiti rates IDS/IPS routing at 5Gbps. That figure is distinct from the 10G physical interface rate and is not a guarantee for every packet mix, VPN tunnel or security configuration. Stateful and application-aware firewalling, traffic identification, content filtering and intrusion detection/prevention provide controls for the site’s policy.
PoE at the gateway
One of the integrated 2.5GbE switch ports supplies PoE+, with a 30W total budget and 30W manufacturer PSE ceiling. Power reaching the endpoint is lower after cable loss. The gateway itself uses the included 54V DC/1.1A adapter; its 25W maximum appliance consumption excludes downstream PoE output.
A managed network foundation
Gateway Fiber does not host the UniFi Network control plane itself. Provide the supported external management option before adoption. Multi-WAN load balancing, OSPF, NAT, QoS, mDNS and RADIUS support network design, while IPsec, WireGuard, OpenVPN and L2TP capabilities depend on the configured VPN role and software. Optional paid security services are separate.
Desktop installation
The white polycarbonate enclosure measures 212.8 × 127.6 × 30mm and weighs 605g. Ethernet, SFP+ and system indicators and a factory-reset button support servicing. Operate at 0–40°C with 5–95% noncondensing humidity, keep the power connection accessible and confirm the regional mains plug suits the installation.

External UniFi management hosting is required. Compatible transceivers/DAC and any additional PoE equipment are selected separately. Interface rates and the IDS/IPS rating describe different limits.
