CONNECTION

A USB route to Bluetooth

The BT040 adds Bluetooth connectivity through a computer’s USB port. It is a computer adapter for compatible Bluetooth devices, rather than a stand-alone 3.5 mm AUX receiver.

FORM FACTOR

Keep the adapter close

The published dimensions are 15 × 4 × 22 mm. The compact body makes it suitable for a permanent desk connection or a laptop USB port, subject to the clearance around neighbouring connectors.

CAPABILITIES

Choose compatible devices

Astrum lists voice, data, music and printer uses. Actual functions depend on the host driver, operating system and the remote device’s supported Bluetooth profiles.

SETUP

Check the operating system first

Current manufacturer specifications name Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. The original shop copy also mentions Windows 10, but current official Windows 10/11 support and a direct driver download have not been verified. Setup may require the correct driver.

Check operating-system and driver compatibility before purchase. Current manufacturer specifications list Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8; Windows 10/11 support is not verified.
