KINGSTON DC2000B · 240 GB ENTERPRISE NVME
A dedicated boot drive. More room for the data bays.
This 240 GB DC2000B puts server boot storage on a compact M.2 module, leaving front-loading drive bays available for other storage. The SEDC2000BYM8/240G variant combines PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe, 3D TLC NAND and hardware power-loss protection without an attached heatsink.

SERVER BOOT STORAGE
Keep the boot volume off the front bays.
DC2000B is designed for internal server boot drives and application caching. The 80 × 22 mm module uses the M.2 2280 format, giving system planners a defined internal storage option. Confirm that the server supports this NVMe drive, its physical clearance and the required boot configuration before installation.
THE 240 GB PERFORMANCE PROFILE
Use the figures for this capacity.
Kingston specifies sequential reads up to 4,500 MB/s and writes up to 400 MB/s for the 240 GB model. Its steady-state 4K references are 260,000 read IOPS and 18,000 write IOPS, measured after the workload has settled with normal background activity included. These are drive references, not guarantees for every host or application.
POWER-LOSS PROTECTION
Capacitors add protection when power drops.
On-board hardware power-loss protection is intended to reduce the risk of data loss or corruption after an unexpected power-off. Enterprise SMART information tracks reliability, usage, remaining drive life, wear levelling and temperature. Neither feature replaces backups or the system’s wider power-protection plan.
ENDURANCE WITH A DEFINED BASIS
Plan the workload as well as capacity.
For this 240 GB drive, Kingston lists 175 TB written using the JEDEC client workload and 0.4 drive writes per day over five years using the JEDEC enterprise workload. The two ratings use different workload bases. The limited warranty is conditional on time and wear, ending at five years or when Percentage Used reaches 100, whichever occurs first.
NON-HEATSINK FIT
The slim version has its own dimensions.
This exact part is listed without a heatsink, with an 80 × 22 × 3.5 mm envelope. Do not use the thicker heatsink version’s dimensions to plan the fit. The specified operating range is 0–70°C; verify the server’s cooling, airflow and installation requirements for the intended workload.
SUPPORT AND HEALTH REVIEW
Check the actual drive before changing firmware.
The official DC2000B support page brings together documentation, SMART information and firmware guidance. Kingston SSD Manager provides identification and health information on supported Windows systems; its current x64 branch lists Windows 10 and 11. Use the manufacturer’s live support guidance for the detected drive and firmware.
