HP LaserJet MFP M442dn | 8AF71A
A3 documents. A shared office workflow.
Bring monochrome A3 printing, copying and flatbed scanning to the office network. The M442dn pairs automatic two-sided printing with 10/100 Ethernet and a standard 350-sheet paper input, with an optional service-installed tray for larger loads.

Room for the bigger page
Keep A3 work in the office.
Print monochrome drawings, larger tables and office documents on supported A3 media without moving to a separate A4-only workflow. The printer is rated up to 24 pages per minute on normal A4 jobs; document content, settings and paper size affect speed.
A shared resource
Connect the team with Ethernet.
A wired 10/100 Base-TX network connection makes the printer available on a compatible office network. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 supports a direct connection. This model has no built-in Wi-Fi; plan the network cable and printer location accordingly.
Less manual turning
Two-sided output comes as standard.
Automatic duplex printing supports suitable media and driver settings. Copy controls include ID and book copying, N-up layouts and 25-400% scaling. The standard M442dn scanner is flatbed; the document feeder pictured in some family imagery is not standard equipment.
Paper, organised
Start with two paper sources.
The standard configuration combines a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 250-sheet main tray. A further 250-sheet cassette is an optional service part, bringing maximum input to 600 sheets when appropriately installed. Output capacity is up to 250 sheets.
Capture and route
Place an original, then choose its destination.
The flatbed accommodates originals up to 297 x 432 mm with hardware scanning up to 600 x 600 dpi. Network scan destinations include email, SMB, FTP, PC and WSD subject to configuration and supported software. No automatic-feeder scan-speed promise applies to the standard flatbed configuration.
Consumables, planned
Keep toner and drum roles distinct.
HP 335A and 335X black toner options are separate from the HP 57A imaging drum. HP recommends a working volume of 2,000-5,000 pages a month. Use actual page coverage and print history to plan supplies; maximum duty cycle and laboratory yields are not guaranteed everyday output.
