HP colour laser multifunction
Print, copy, scan and fax from one compact colour laser MFP. The HP 179fnw combines a 40-sheet document feeder, network and direct wireless printing, and a clear two-line control panel for a small office’s daily paperwork.
Four functions, one place
The HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw combines printing, copying, scanning and faxing for a small team of one to five people. Its two-line display and keypad put routine controls on the machine. HP recommends 100–500 printed pages per month; the much higher maximum duty-cycle figure is not an everyday workload target.
Make the pace clear
A4 ISO print speeds reach up to 18 pages per minute in black and 4 in colour. ReCP laser imaging delivers up to 600 × 600 dpi at 4 bits for documents and graphics. Two-sided output is manual with driver assistance: you turn and reload the sheets, rather than relying on an automatic duplexer.
From originals to outgoing documents
Use the flatbed for individual originals or the 40-sheet automatic document feeder for multi-page work. The scanner supports colour and mono capture, while the integrated 33.6 kbps fax handles compatible telephone-line faxing. The ADF feeds documents automatically; it does not add automatic two-sided scanning or printing.
Keep the connection practical
Fast Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 provide alternative ways to connect. Compatible devices can use AirPrint, Mopria or Wi-Fi Direct, with HP app workflows subject to app and operating-system requirements. Google Cloud Print has been retired. Know what ships, and what replaces it
Introductory cartridges are included: approximately 700 black pages and 500 composite colour pages. Regional HP 117A replacements are rated at approximately 1,000 black or 700 composite colour pages under ISO/IEC 19798 continuous-printing conditions; actual output varies. The imaging drum and toner collection unit are separate supplies. Dynamic security requires new or reused HP chips, and firmware updates can block non-HP-chip cartridges that worked previously.
