Separate device access from network uplinks
Connect up to 48 compatible PoE devices over the numbered copper access ports. Two additional Gigabit RJ45 connections and two Gigabit SFP cages give copper and fibre uplink options. The published switching capacity is 104Gbps with a 77.38Mpps forwarding rate; these are switch ratings, not an internet-speed promise.
Power planning
Budget for the whole installation
IEEE 802.3af/at support allows up to 30W per PoE port, subject to the 470W total budget. That budget is shared: it does not provide 30W simultaneously across all 48 ports. PoE watchdog can detect and restart unresponsive cameras on ports 1–48, while the long-range mode is specified up to 300m with camera and cable-dependent results.
Segmentation and resilience
Control traffic with a defined policy
802.1Q VLANs, access/trunk modes and port isolation help separate traffic. Static link aggregation supports up to eight groups, while SP/WRR scheduling and rate limits allocate traffic priority. STP, RSTP and ERPS support loop prevention; configure the topology and enable the required protection rather than assuming it is active by default.
Security and maintenance
Monitor ports before faults grow
The manufacturer lists DHCP snooping, ACLs and IP/MAC/port binding alongside broadcast, multicast and unknown-unicast storm control. Web management, Hik-Partner Pro and Hik-Central Pro support administration. Hik-Partner Pro can show topology, alarms, bandwidth and PoE usage; cable diagnostics, LLDP and port mirroring assist fault finding.
