Zebra • DS9308-SR4U2100AZE
A compact scanner for the busy counter.
The black Zebra DS9308 presentation scanner reads supported 1D and 2D barcodes from labels and phone screens, with a small countertop footprint and an adjustable base. This DS9308-SR4U2100AZE listing is the supplier-described EMEA USB kit: DS9308-SR00004ZZWW scanner with CBA-U21-S07ZBR shielded USB cable. The scanner capabilities below come from Zebra’s DS9300/DS9308 documentation; the exact kit contents remain supplier-listed.

Counter space
Let the product come to the scanner.
The compact presentation format keeps the scanner ready for items, tickets and mobile coupons at the counter. The ratcheting base offers four positions, from 15° back to 45° forward. A 45° cable connector helps route the cable within a crowded workstation. Optional mounting accessories are separate.
Imaging
A clear path from barcode to transaction.
The 800MHz processor, 1280 × 800 sensor and Zebra PRZM Intelligent Imaging support barcode capture across paper labels and compatible screens. Supported formats include QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, DotCode and dotted DataMatrix, alongside common linear barcodes. Damaged labels and reflective screens still need testing in the real application.
Swipe performance
Know the test behind the speed.
Zebra specifies swipe speeds up to 305cm/s for a 13mil UPC in optimised presentation mode. That is a defined test condition, not a guarantee for every code or checkout. Typical decoding distance depends on barcode size, contrast, print quality and ambient light; a 13mil UPC is specified from contact to 22.4cm.
Feedback and resilience
Make the successful scan easy to recognise.
Good-decode LEDs and an adjustable beeper provide visual and audible feedback. Adaptive LEDs dim when the scanner is idle. The published IP52 sealing, 1.5m concrete-drop and 1,000-tumble specifications describe tested resistance; the scanner is not waterproof and should not be immersed.
Your USB deployment
Keep kit contents separate from interface options.
The supplied listing is a USB kit. Zebra also documents RS-232, keyboard wedge and IBM/TGCS interface configurations, requiring the appropriate separate cable and setup. Use the exact DS9308 reference guide for host selection, keyboard layout, symbology enablement and software. Digimarc is available only on selected models; it is not confirmed for this kit.
