The Core i9-14900K combines eight Performance-cores with sixteen Efficient-cores for a total of 24 cores and 32 threads. Its LGA1700 platform offers integrated UHD Graphics 770 and CPU PCIe 5.0/4.0 connectivity. Plan the motherboard, cooling and power delivery together: this boxed K-series processor requires a separately selected cooler.
Hybrid processing
Eight Performance-cores are paired with sixteen Efficient-cores, with Intel Thread Director helping a supported operating system schedule work. Peak 6.0 GHz Thermal Velocity Boost depends on temperature, power and workload; it is not a promise that every core operates at that speed.
Build with care
Allow for the processor’s 125 W base and 253 W maximum turbo ratings when selecting cooling and system power. Use the latest supported motherboard BIOS with Intel’s required stability microcode and relevant Intel Default Settings. Integrated UHD Graphics 770 provides a display option when the board has suitable outputs.
Confirm exact board CPU/BIOS support and memory QVL. Maximum boost and graphics outputs depend on the platform. Install the latest board-specific BIOS containing microcode 0x12F or later and apply the relevant Intel Default Settings. CPU power figures are not whole-system consumption.
