Solidigm D7-PS1010 • 7.68 TB • U.2
Standard-endurance PCIe 5.0 storage for enterprise workloads.
The D7-PS1010 SB5PH27X076T001 is a 7.68 TB, 15 mm U.2 enterprise SSD using 176-layer TLC NAND and a PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe interface. This generic single-pack ordering code is the No Opal variant. It is designed for supported data-centre storage systems, with standard-endurance positioning and a specified five-year write-workload basis.

Enterprise workload
A defined place in the D7 range.
D7-PS1010 targets mainstream enterprise and cloud storage, including AI/ML data pipelines, HPC, databases and general-purpose servers. It is the standard-endurance member of this family; PS1030 is a separate mid-endurance product. This 7.68 TB U.2 model should be selected on its own capacity, workload and host requirements rather than the highest figures from another D7 drive.

Interface and installation
U.2 is a host requirement, not just a drive shape.
The drive uses a 2.5-inch, 15 mm U.2 format with PCIe 5.0 x4 and NVMe. A suitable NVMe backplane, supported carrier, PCIe connectivity, firmware and cooling are required. A bay accepting 2.5-inch SATA or SAS disks does not by itself establish NVMe compatibility. The PS1010 family also contains E3.S and E1.S designs; their mounting and liquid-cooling arrangements are separate from this U.2 model.
Performance planning
Compare the workload as well as the headline rate.
The supplied configuration is listed with up to 14,500 MB/s sequential reads, 10,000 MB/s sequential writes, 3,000,000 random read IOPS and 400,000 random write IOPS. Solidigm’s family brief reports performance under defined block sizes and queue depths; family maxima are not guarantees for every capacity, firmware or application. Confirm capacity-specific figures for the intended deployment before sizing a service around these limits.
Write endurance
One drive write per day on a five-year basis.
Solidigm places PS1010 in its standard-endurance category at 1 DWPD over five years. The separately quoted three-year rate of 1.66 DWPD uses a different time basis and does not add to that allowance. Match actual host writes to the endurance specification and monitor drive wear; usable formatted capacity is lower than the nominal 7.68 TB.
Protection and security
Keep the ordering-code distinction clear.
The exact T001 ordering code is Generic No Opal; it should not be substituted for the separate TOP1 Opal version when a storage-security policy requires that feature. Solidigm documents enhanced power-loss-imminent testing and data-protection validation for the family, but these do not replace backups or a validated recovery design. The listed 2.5-million-hour MTBF is a statistical reliability figure, not an individual-drive lifespan.
Power and physical planning
Budget airflow and electrical headroom together.
The family brief lists maximum average active read/write power of 23 W and idle power of 5 W. Do not treat idle power as the active workload budget. The supplied U.2 configuration is listed for 0–77°C operation and approximately 140 g mass. Confirm the server’s airflow, drive-bay clearance, power delivery and thermal requirements for this exact drive and firmware.
Support and service
Use the full part number for a deployment.
Solidigm lists D7-PS1010 under its limited five-year data-centre SSD warranty policy, subject to the applicable terms and endurance conditions. Keep the drive serial and purchase records, and check whether the system vendor supplies its own firmware or support package. Review firmware applicability through the manufacturer and host vendor; a public product page does not establish that any particular firmware is the newest or suitable for every server.
